"Welcome to my castle."
So, several things have occured since Friday. My MP3 died, I completed the main quest of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and I purchased "A Beautiful Lie: Deluxe Edition" by 30 Seconds to Mars.
>_>
Well, anyway, I bought the album for a single song that wasn't present on the original, and I've listened to that song well over twenty times since I got my hands on it. But that's not really important, and I'm just going to rant a little on the ending of LoZ:TP.
*SPOILERSAGAINBECAUSEIKEEPNEGLECTINGTHEHIDEYTHING*
Zant, the primary villain, who had been extremely badass in all his little antics, was reduced to an incompetent, fussy, pawn by the time we face him. I had been expecting a nice, epic battle, but all he could do was mimic the styles of previous bosses, and poorly at that. Whatever. Forget him, we move on to the bigger fish.
LoZ:Oot and LoZ:WW both ended with climactic confrontations with Ganondorf, and this game is no different. There is confrontation, there is Zelda at hostage, there is taunting, and then there is a four-tiered final battle to contend with. Now, understand that I not had spoiled anything about the game, so I had no idea what to expect regarding Ganon. Therefore, I was readily pumped up and enthralled, and passed the first phase of the battle with ease, and then Ganon transformed to his boar form.
Obviously, I was ready to kick his ass all over the place, but just as the battle begins, my electricity goes out. I need not describe to you the frustation I experienced.
I returned a couple of hours later, and finished off all four phases of the final battle. The ending was alright, but I just felt it didn't live up to the game as a whole. There is resolution, but I was left desiring just a smidge more. Nevertheless, to abate my hunger for a climactic upshot, I replayed the final battle of LoZ:WW and came to the conflusion that LoZ:WW is the best of the 3D Zelda games, with LoZ:MM coming at a close second. There. I've said what I said.

I hate it when the electricity goes out and you've been working on something for so long you forgot save it?! >_< Curse you, force of nature!
Ganondork gets a little old after a while, huh? And, also, saving Zelda. Very, very old. T_T
Though, congratulations on beating Twilight Princess! :applause:
I like Majora's Mask, but I like Orcarina of Time more. >_>
2007-01-08 12:55 am (UTC)
I screamed out "NO!" when it happened. Really, I was all ready to go, and then that happens.
It was obvious he was going to be the final boss, but at least they were good boss battles. >_>
Thank you. It took me a little over a week. [ Error: Irreparable invalid markup ('<_<>') in entry. Owner must fix manually. Raw contents below.] I screamed out "NO!" when it happened. Really, I was all ready to go, and then that happens.

Thank you. It took me a little over a week. <_<
Majora is the best Zelda villain ever. >_<
~@_@~
2007-01-08 09:18 pm (UTC)
It's always pretty obvious. Except for MM.
Most battles I've fought with Ganondorf we're good, but it took a while to finish them.
>_> Wish I could finish a game in a week. >_<
I did that one time when I was writing an essay and I had forgotten to save it. ... That was a bad night.
2007-01-08 10:13 pm (UTC)
I knew that since LoZ:TP was probably going to be the last major Zelda release for awhile, he was going to be involved, of course. And it was an excuse to give fans the so-desired duel between him and Link as the finale.
As far as I know, they were single affairs in most of the 2D game, but you faced him four times in TP. In OoT, it was twice, and in WW, it was really only one. Then again, you fight Vaati four times in the Minish Cap, too. >_>
It went by rather speedily, I just have no desire whatsoever to play it or any video games for the time being.
That doesn't sound very good. >_>
~@_@~
2007-01-08 10:20 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I agree. They caused a stir with TP, why not wait a while for another one?
I thought that in "A Link to the Past," there were several. O_o I can't remember.
I understand. Sometimes you want to play so badly that you can't stop thinking about it, and then other times, you could care less.
It wasn't.
2007-01-08 10:33 pm (UTC)
I still have to find that collection for the GCN so I can actually finish MM instead of tarnishing my beautiful, gold cartridge.
I never finished that one, either. Although it may have included that Aghanim, or whatever his name is.
It just drained me a little. >_>
Eh. Let me try and think of a similar experience.
~@_@~
2007-01-08 10:37 pm (UTC)
That's the version that I played. My cousin got it for Christmas a few years ago, so I stole it a way from him the whole time I was visiting. XD
I always get killed at the third temple... >_>
 I get worked up when I'm playing KH II or Tekken. I get so mad when things aren't going my way and then I start yelling at the screen (or, namely, I was yelling at Saix >_>).
Heh.
2007-01-08 10:42 pm (UTC)
I know I can find it at GameStop or something, but I'm only getting it for MM and Zelda II. Who needs ANOTHER Oot?!
I can't recall that one. It's been awhile.
I don't really yell, I just... fume a lot, and exclaim, "What the hell?!" Saix? Demyx! That strawberry-scented bag of douche had me so infuriated! He's such a pussy!
I'm sorry, nothing's coming to mind right now.
~@_@~
2007-01-08 10:45 pm (UTC)
Tell me about it.
I haven't played it in about seven years. I got it when it came out for GBA after I had played it on SuperNintendo.
I had FUN with Demyx; not so much with Saix. Stupid 'Moon Power.' :grumble:
That's all right. ^^
2007-01-08 10:55 pm (UTC)
I was pumped up for Demyx, but his constant water-cloning ruined my evening. :(
It's funny. I owned Saix on my first try in Standard, but he took me several tries on Proud. Annoying.
~@_@~
2007-01-09 08:15 pm (UTC)
I died on the first try with Demyx because I forgot that you had to destroy all the clones before time ran out.
I played on Standard and though I won my first try, too, it still annoyed me beyond all belief. >_< I never did like him anyway.
2007-01-09 10:27 pm (UTC)
"GOTCHA NOW!"
Diediedie
It is an annoying battle. I dislike Luxord's more, though.
~@_@~
2007-01-09 10:33 pm (UTC)
 Yes, that's exactly how it was! >_<
I HATE Luxford's too. DX But I found the perfect stategy for him! Use Curaga and just hack and slash. >:D
2007-01-09 10:35 pm (UTC)
Yeah. I know all of his battle quotes aside from that one he mumbles...
Proud Mode was a whore with those fights, I just don't know why. >_>
~@_@~
2007-01-09 10:37 pm (UTC)
Scary. o_o;
I didn't play on Proud Mode because I knew that I would have my butt wiped across the floor. <_<
2007-01-09 10:41 pm (UTC)
Yes, very. I forget which attack he says it in conjuction with.
It was hardest at the beginning--you just have to equip Sora with defensive armor and it's fine.
~@_@~
2007-01-09 10:44 pm (UTC)
I never did really pay attention to what they said... or, I only paid attention for certain battle cries. (Like the guide said...)
What's really bad is that I put all my defense on Sora and none on Donald and Goofy. I felt kind of bad, since they got knocked out about three seconds in each battle. x_x; But I didn't have to worry with Riku. =3 Riku did very well!
2007-01-09 10:53 pm (UTC)
Riku has his thumb hooked in his back pocket, like a badass. He's fine.
I didn't have the guide, so it was like, now what is he going to do?
~@_@~
2007-01-09 10:58 pm (UTC)
He's just cool like that. It's a good thing he did, too, because it saved him the humiliation of being ranked 4th in GamingForce's Top 10 Dorks of 2006. >_> Sora earned that one.
I have to some sort of guide, or else I won't be able to figure out what I'm doing and I'll freak.
2007-01-09 11:06 pm (UTC)
Sora is a dork. He's too naive. Riku, on the other hand... at least he doesn't have too much angst.
I can usually do fine without one, but they don't hurt to have around.
~@_@~
2007-01-09 11:09 pm (UTC)
Poor Riku can't cut a break most the time. He lost the girl, changed into ugly Ansem (or Xeanhort [sp?]), and made many fangirls believe weird things because of his devotion to Sora. You have to admit; he's a VERY loyal friend.
No it doesn't. Especially with Galerians: ASH. Guide is a MUST.
2007-01-09 11:20 pm (UTC)
"Xehanort", I think. Maybe not.
:)
~@_@~
2007-01-09 11:23 pm (UTC)
Yeah, that's it!
"My Gosh that rhymes/ with Voldemort!" Oh, I do so love the 'Sora Song.' =D
2007-01-10 12:02 am (UTC)
Oh, okay. I wasn't all that sure suddenly. >_>
It does. I like "Roxas" better, but I prefer Roxas overall, anyway.
~@_@~
2007-01-10 10:56 pm (UTC)
:D
I like Roxas, but his whole story line is a bit too rocky for me to take in. O_o I like Sora over Roxas. He's a bit easier to figure out. Also, he makes me laugh. Roxas is just =[ all the time.
2007-01-11 12:38 am (UTC)
But that's what makes Roxas cool. He isn't so damn naive, and he's much more mellow. He seems to share that same, bittersweet mellowness I do, meaning we're not exactly fully happy, and not entirely depressed, but caught somewhere in-between.
...
>_>
~@_@~
2007-01-11 10:21 pm (UTC)
 I can see where you can relate to Roxas. I can really tell with Joshua from TECDAH. He was very mellow and in-between. I would guess that he's a direct example of your personality and behavior.
I have a dark, morbid mind, but I do like to joke around, have fun and be happy (if just for a bit), much like Sora does. Though everything is collapsing around him (durn Heartless/Nobody hate), he still tries to remain optimistic. I like to joke around when thing's are serious, because I'm trying to help how someone feels... though I think that I make the person/people angrier. >_>
2007-01-11 11:25 pm (UTC)
Damn it. Authors aren't supposed to project themselves in their characters, but I did it anyway! >_>
I joke around, too, and stuff, but most of the time I'm just really mellow.
I'm not an optimistic person whatsoever. I'm very cynical, and I've come to the conclusion that, you're less likely to be disappointed when pessimistic, and much more likely to be when optimistic.
~@_@~
2007-01-12 09:46 pm (UTC)
I think that despite everything, most authors do project themselves in characters. I don't think that it's bad... despite some people.
I'm just crazy. If I went and got checked or something, more than likely I would classified as 'border-line insane.' >_> At least, that's what I think...
It matters the situation on whether or not I'm optimistic or pessimistic. I vary.
2007-01-13 01:24 am (UTC)
Joshua is much more arrogant than I am, though, and so much crazier. He is at a higher extreme, you see.
I believe that we are insane simply because we have the capability to see beyond, to see what makes this that and that this. We see the world through a different lens.
There, feel free to quote me on that one whenever you feel it's appropriate.
Despite my constant, dry, joking demeanor, I'm just an pessimist. But I really don't give a shit.
~@_@~
2007-01-13 11:48 pm (UTC)
Hmm... I see. Yeah, I can see where Josh would be more arrogant.
 I use a similar idea when it comes to 'light/dark' thinking.
:takesmanymanynotes:
2007-01-14 01:06 am (UTC)
Yeah. Joshua would very easily proclaim that he masturbates to the entire cafeteria, where I would never dream of it. He's completely indifferent to the world.
I guess.
Many others aspire to be like me, so don't feel bad.
~@_@~
2007-01-14 10:22 pm (UTC)
Yeah... he just says what he wants, does what he wants, and could care less as to who might take it offensive or find it weird.
^^;
I think you're a fascinating person. I wouldn't blame anyone that wants to be a little bit more like you. =)
2007-01-14 11:33 pm (UTC)
Like, you know, the remark he made about Henry and Eileen's lovemaking in one of the chapters. He doesn't give a shit, and, I guess in some ways, I don't, either.
WHY THANK YOU VERY BADLY
~@_@~
2007-01-15 10:27 pm (UTC)
Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking of when I sent that last comment. XD That was so funny!
You're so very welcome! ^__^
2007-01-15 10:47 pm (UTC)
Hmm. I wonder if I should tell you...
I was skimming through TECDAH last night, noting several mistakes I'd made, some errors in the actual plot(the "Seal of Metatron" should replace the "Halo of the Sun", for instance) and I was getting to know Joshua and his cohorts a bit better. And I was reminded of an easter egg.
You see, I introduced a teacher of whom Joshua was very fond, a Mrs. Lockheart, or Lockhart, I'm too lazy to check right now. I recall that I described Mrs. Lockeart as having long, black hair and, maybe, ruby(should be hazel) eyes.
...
You probably overlooked this. Think about it. If you need me to tell you what the easter egg is, then I will. :)
We may not have seen the end of Joshua, either, since he is one of the only true characters of my "canon"...
~@_@~
2007-01-16 10:33 pm (UTC)
I tend to miss every single easter egg out there, so that was probably no different.
Lockheart... Lockheart... I feel like this should be completely obvious to me, but I can't figure out why. Sorry... =(
2007-01-16 10:44 pm (UTC)
Tifa. >_>
Speaking of Joshua, I started sketching him, which is something I've wanted to do for awhile. I can't get his legs right, damn it... but I should finish by the end of the day.
~@_@~
2007-01-16 10:48 pm (UTC)
... :headdeskheaddeskheaddeskheaddesk: :scream:
I hate drawing legs. I can never get the way I want them right. :shakefist: I hope you get it done soon.
:headdesk:
2007-01-16 10:54 pm (UTC)
This has existed since, virtually, the start of the story. No reason to get too excited. :)
Well, if only Joshua didn't wear such form-fitting jeans... >_>
~@_@~
2007-01-16 11:00 pm (UTC)
That just makes me feel worse.
Ah... the ebil form-fitters. :glaresatdrawings:
2007-01-16 11:20 pm (UTC)
Don't worry. I mean, if I had put in some substitue teacher with outraegeously long silver hair, that would have merited some concern.
I have everything done, aside from his eyes. Shit. It looks pretty good, in my opinion. :)
~@_@~
2007-01-16 11:26 pm (UTC)
Yeah.
I need to scan some stuff. >_> I'm so lazy. But I do wanna see!
